Music
Lily Jude started singing with her dad, learning to tap the beat, and creating harmonies in the car on the way to cheer practice after dance lessons. She took every opportunity to sing growing up; singing in church and at her school talent shows. Eventually she found musical theater and participated in that all throughout high school into adulthood. While in high school she formed a band with her best friend, Audrey, called She’s My Sister . The band consisted of Lily and her sister, Chloe, and Audrey and her sister, Franny.
During the four year life span of the band Lily had many experiences gigging around north, central, and north metro MN. They played any gig they could get; bars, farmers markets, wineries, churches, and eventually this snowballed into booking festivals like the Recfest Bluegrass Festival and Homegrown Music Festival. They even started getting offers for small headlining shows at local venues. They volunteered concerts for Milaca High School’s Dollars for Scholars program and Anoka-Ramsey Community College’s Schlolardazzle as a way to give back their community and support students continuing their education. They won the Mille Lacs County Fair talent contest and went on to perform at the Minnesota State Fair. From this they received offers to open for another local band called The Farmer’s Daughters. They also received offers to play for a few radio shows; KBEK and 1500 ESPN. Their KBEK radio show and in house concert sold out. After that they decided to use the money from their gigs and start a Kickstarter campaign to raise enough to record their first studio album of all original songs. They ended up raising over $5,600 towards their album all due to the support of their following and community.
After releasing their debut album in 2019, they decided to donate a song off of the album to Food and Song Volume 1 in collaboration with Trevor J. Brown to support central MN food pantries. They used the album as a love letter and swan song to their community. They also received an award from Everything Minnesota Music for “Most Underrated” band and album after their album’s release. At the end of summer 2019, they disbanded as all the members went on to pursue higher education.
As a singer/songwriter and beginner producer using Abelton Live, Lily Jude has continued to write songs and work on small projects. She is so excited to make her official solo debut this Summer (2024).
